can anyone tell me what this indicates? there appears to be alot of white smoke from the exaust but only when the engine is cold, when temp goes to normal, there isnt any white smoke. volvo s70 t5 1997

my 850 2.5 10v does this also as have many if not all of my previous cars.. its just condensation. most cars do this to a certain degree when cold.

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about IMO, with the recent cold weather all cars are putting out a lot more white vapour from the exhausts than usual. If you were still getting white smoke from the exhaust when the engine was warm that would be a worry. Cheers, John

its the time of year like said above its just condensaton its just not noticeable when yer pipe gets fully upto temp im runnin a lwb mitsi shogun it kicks out clouds of white stuff when cold , its defo not head or gasget as they were only done by me last year , ye realy know when they let go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as yer cant see at all behind yer

You'd need fog lights on to drive behind me for the 1st 5min or so, but uses no water ect, so must be normal
