cd player.

MessageAuthor

hi, has anybody tried to gain access to the radio/cd player in the xc90.or perhaps seen it done by someone else.i presume it must come out of the dash but as always there are no visible screws or bolts. access from behind looks impossible. peter.

RE: cd player.

Remove gear selector surround, and the two inner of the 4 torx bolts revealed below the traction/mirrors switches - whole unit then slides forward from the bottom and out - DO NOT turn ign on whilst doing this, as you will end up woth airbag light/fault! You can then disconnect the multiplugs and optical lines - the CD player/changer is a seperate unit secured by a couple of torx bolts... HTH Mike

RE: cd player.

Peter, be careful when removing the stereo cover. The XC90's system is not as the more conventional cars. The control console is connected to the radio and cd player by a fiber optic cable. The radio and cd control module are located under the front passenger seat. My cd player is currently not working as well. Spoke with a dealer here in the United States and was informed that the problem could be as simple as the fiber optic being faulty or even a greater problem with the cd computer interface.
