Hi all First of all I have finally got my 1964 1800S on the road after a memorable 3 year resto. I had never driven it as it was a bit of a barn find and was last used in 1992. Having sailed through the MOT test I have now covered around 300 miles of what I like to think of as "extended road testing". I would like to thank all of the forum members for your help and support during the rebuild. However, as we all know - it doesn't stop there. From day one i noticed that the brake pedal travel was a bit unusual although the brakes worked ok. I even checked with the MOT tester and he said they were good. My problem is that there is a lot of pedal travel (about 2") before anything happens and then the braking force is a bit too fierce all of a sudden. Thats what happens most of the time however on increasingly more frequent occasions the brakes sieze slightly - could be just r/h rear - and when this happens pedal travel is reduced to almost zero although the brakes still appear to work well. I have new brake lines and hoses Reconditioned Calipers Rebuilt the rear drums and servo myself using seal kits I didnt touch the master cylinder as it felt ok at the time - could this be the cause? Can it hold hydraulic pressure internally causing the brakes to bind?
