Tow Bar Wiring & Relay/Plug in kit

MessageAuthor

Looking for some help please, I've searched the forum and can't find the detailed answer. I'm about to buy a tow bar for my 2000MY V70 Classic and am getting conflicting advice from suppliers. I want single electrics for a bike rack light board or trailer and have had all 3 of the following suggested for connecting the wiring. a. splice direct into appropriate car wires. b. use a 7 way relay. c. use a V70 specific plug in kit. I would prefer to use c, but it seems that they are not being made any more. I'm also quite tempted to go for a (to save money). Anyone got definitive answers for a MY2000 V70? Many thanks ....

Phone this company. I have used them in the past and sell wiring kits.

Jim, Thanks, but this is one of the companies no longer supplying the car kits. Regards,

Use the standard connector located over/near the rear nearside wheel arch behind the interior trim, this is what the Volvo loom plugs into and can be spliced into safely and as a bonus it's a 30amp supply so no relays required!!! Happy days.:Banane59: The saloons use it for the electric ariel but the estates don't use it apart for cars with the CD Changer. George

Brink used to make a wiring kit and I think Westfalia did.
