Can't Select Record Input

MessageAuthor

Hello, at the bottom there's a link to a short video showing how Reaper is not allowing me to select a specific input for recording, even tho I have my interface setup correctly. I have done many recordings in which I select a specific input (1-8). Anyone have a clue what I or It is doing wrong?

Hi. I have the Zoom R24 running Windows 10. I'm not in front of my machine right now, but if I remember right when changing any of the recording device settings it requires you to re-launch Reaper to recognize the changes. Also right click the speaker icon, select recording devices. Highlight your Zoom recorder, right click, and set it as your default device. Hope that might help get you in the direction :-)

Hmmmm, when I created a new, blank project and created a new track it allowed me right away to select a channel. When I closed that and reopened the project I'm trying to record to and created a new track it still doesn't give me a selection option. :/ and I also, tried closing and relaunching Reaper several times. Side note, I love the R24, wish they made a "Pro" version.

Welp, I'm not sure what bug may be occurring, but I seemed to have found a work around. I created a new project, created two tracks, set one to channel 2 and the other to channel 3, then saved both as templates. Then opened the main project back up and loaded the two template tracks. Seems to be working how I want them to be. I turned up the gain individually for each track one at a time and according to the waveform the gain changes only effected the corresponding channel, sooooooo . . . yea. guess that what I'm gonna have to do for this project :/

When I get home from work this evening. I'll look at my PC setup again. Yeah, I love my R24 too. I used to take it into rehearsals and record. It's great especially battery operated, but I didn't use that option often.

Hi Stephen. I just got home from work and settled in for the evening (So. Cal-USA) Plugged in my R24 and powered up my laptop running Win 10. From your video I see a few things that I have set different that you may want to try? Reaper has some really advanced option settings, so these allow for Reaper to control the parameters instead of Zoom telling Reaper what it can do. Not sure if that makes sense..? Request Sample Rate = Un-checked Request Block Size = Un-checked ASIO Configuration (Button) - Buffer Size = 512 Pre-Zero Output Buffers = Checked Ignore ASIO Reset Messages = Checked Another thing I have done in Windows 10 is disable the sleep option for USB. I don't want Windows to sleep on accident if I am recording something. Here's how to get there. Windows Icon --> Settings (Gear looking thing) --> System --> Power & Sleep (** Additional Power Settings **) --> Change Plan Settings --> Change Advanced Power Settings --> USB Settings --> USB Selective Suspend Setting --- DISABLE "On Battery" and Plugged In. Try these and re-launch Reaper. It's 8:30pm now, but I'll log in before I got to sleep, or tommorrow. Good luck :-)
